Two outstanding artists in Latin Jazz – Columbian percussionist, Samuel Torres and Venezuelan trumpeter, Michael Simon – decided to come together to share their passion in music, and to explore the connection and harmony by joining forces to create something exquisite and divine.
Collaborating Jazz Musicians
Their collaboration, which was a fusing of the Columbian rhythms (eg. bambuco, cumbia and south american waltz) and Venezuelan grooves (eg. gaita, parranda, joropo, sangeo, san millan and tambor de osma), birthed a new kind of sound. These two masterminds not only produced something fresh and new, but with classic and jazzy undertones that provides a unique and soulful sound.
